Wishmaster (1997)

Gemologist Alexandra Amberson unknowingly unleashes an ancient evil when a priceless opal containing a powerful Djinn is damaged, and its imprisoned occupant escapes. Taking human form, the creature begins granting wishes to anyone desperate enough to make them, twisting every request into a horrifying and often deadly outcome while gathering the souls it needs to increase its power.

As Alex discovers the truth behind the mysterious deaths surrounding her, she learns that the Djinn’s ultimate goal is far more dangerous than personal revenge.
