While focusing on the drama of the Middle East that has been a focal point of this Country for years now, Homeland still has a basic premise at heart - good old human drama which always makes for thrilling television.
Jericho Stewart (Kevin Costner; Dances with Wolves) is a maximum-security criminal who, because of a traumatic brain injury as a child, can't reason between right and wrong and feels no emotions.
One thing that is refreshing about the series is that this post-apocalyptic world doesn’t have zombies, vampires or aliens that have come to conquer the Earth unlike so many of the feature films being produced these days.
The show itself is dark, and accurately portrays Gotham as a town overrun by various mob organizations. I was definitely left wanting more and the series finale leaves you hanging on the edge of your seat.
While The Good Lie a very moving story and is definitely an entertaining film with very heart-wrenching real life ties, it’s not one that will be remembered through the ages. Best bet is to rent, unless you are a collector.
