Season Six is a great call back to the early seasons of Archer and gets the show back on track after the quirky and ill received Archer Vice.

Six years ago, a little known show named Archer was showcased during San Diego Comic Con, and the rest, shall we say, is history. This zany, crazy, adult-themed comedy follows the adventures of Sterling Archer, an independent contractor, and his operatives.

After a detour last year with Archer Vice, the writing team seems to be back on track, this time bringing in the CIA to replace the ill-named "ISIS" consulting group.  Gone is the drug running/cartel plot, only to be replaced with the familiar spy game-with a twist.  This season incorporates the baby Lana conceived with unknowing sperm donor, Archer.

With so many of the sight gags the show is known for, Season Six doesn't disappoint. There are a few exceptionally hilarious moments, including a visit to Lana's parents with Archer and baby in tow.  This season also ramps up the graphic sex scenes and innuendos and includes several moments in a hot tube with various characters in all states of undress.  Back is the "snarky", biting banter among the operatives; fans will have much to laugh about and enjoy as the show seems to be getting better with age.

All of the crazy cast is back, including regular guest star Christian Slater as Slater. Veterans H. Jon Benjamin (Sterling Archer), Aisha Tyler (Lana Kane), Jessica Walter (Malory Archer), Chris Parnell (Cyril Figgis), Judy Greer (Cheryl), Amber Nash (Pam) and Adam Reed (Ray Gillette) once again lend their talents to the show and the humor has never been better.

Archer Season Six DVD set is encoded in MPEG-2 480i resolution with a 1.78:1 aspect ratio. The black levels are deep, while the colors truly pop, even in the low resolution of the DVD with almost no signs of noise or artifacting to be found. The distinct and very stylistic photo elements, as well as the rotoscoped animation, truly shine through on the transfer.

While not the DTS-HD Master found on the Season Six Blu-ray of Archer, the DVD still boasts a good Dolby Digital 5.1 transfer. The soundtrack is pretty front loaded with dialog that comes through loud and clear, while the rear channels do a decent job with the special effects.

As with most seasons of Archer the extras on the DVD set are pretty much nonexistent aside from three small featurette:  Conan and Archer Battle Russian Mobsters — a short skit featuring late night talk show host Conan O'Brien ;  Slay-J — is a longer cartoon sequence about a possible fate of Archer and Lana's daughter, AJ; Cooking with Milton — A fake infomercial about the toasting features of the office's latest employee, Milton the copy toaster.

Season Six is a great call back to the early seasons of Archer and gets the show back on track after the quirky and ill received Archer Vice.

For me, season 7 was my favorite season (of Archer) so far. I love the direction they took the series in and while it sets up what could be an incredibly creative season 8….Season 7 was just a ton fun!

Animation has seen an interesting growth over the past 30 years or so. For the most part it has been seen a venue for children and as such has been geared for them. But at times there were films and shows that attempted to push past that. Anyone who has enjoyed the Pixar films can attest to the chan...

Even though most of the episodes this season are easily forgettable the addition of such guest voices as Kenny Loggins and Christian Slater are nice breaks from what seems to be one of the worst season of Archer made to date.
