Bugonia (2025)

Bugonia is a darkly comic sci-fi thriller from Academy Award–nominated filmmaker Yorgos Lanthimos. The film follows two conspiracy-obsessed young men who become convinced that a powerful corporate executive is secretly an alien intent on destroying Earth. Acting on their paranoia, they abduct her, triggering a surreal chain of events that blurs the line between delusion, power, and reality.

Written by The Menu screenwriter Will Tracy, Bugonia is a remake of the South Korean cult film Save the Green Planet! and continues Lanthimos' exploration of obsession, social control, and moral absurdity. With Emma Stone and Jesse Plemons reuniting with the director after their previous collaborations, the film blends biting satire with escalating tension, delivering a provocative genre experience that challenges perceptions and beliefs.
