Stigmata (1999)

A non-religious hair stylist in her mid-20s, Frankie Paige (Patricia Arquette) receives a rosary from her mother. She begins speaking in other voices, being attacked by unseen forces, and developing stigmata, bleeding wounds on her wrists, feet, and side that are associated with the Passion of Christ. A Vatican Cardinal (Jonathan Pryce) examines her and sends Father Andrew Kiernan (Gabriel Byrne) to investigate Frankie to ascertain if the events and stigmata are indeed a miracle from God. However, Father Andrew quickly finds that the need to verify the Devine is far less important than saving Frankie's life.
