Black Mass
As usual, Johnny Depp gives his all to his performance. At no time through the film did it feel like Johnny Depp was on screen, his persona and performance echo his character, James “Whitey” Bolger, through the entire run-time.

As usual, Spielberg’s work is amazing. He is truly a master at his trade craft. He expertly directs this period piece like only Stephen Spielberg can.

Ted 2
While the first film was just exploring the world of Ted and his best friend, John Bennett  (Mark Wahlberg; Transformers: Age of Extinction), the new film expands the storyline and tries to answer the age old question - what makes someone, or something, human?

Ant-Man
While Kevin Feige does try to keep the look and feel of most stories told in the Marvel Cinematic Universe the same, he does allow some directors to add a little bit of their own distinctive tone to the film. Such is the case with Ant-Man’s director, Peyton Reed (Yes Man).

The Minions
Overall, Minions has a very upbeat quality to it, and while the story is a bit lacking, the hijinks of the Minions help save the film from becoming another film in the 3D animated cannon fodder.

The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies Extended Edition
While Jackson’s extended editions are usually the “go to” choice when choosing on film editions, The extended edition of The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies can’t help the film from being just a 164-minute coda to a trilogy that was already complete.

Trainwreck
Trainwreck is a decent entry into the family of Judd Apatow comedies, and while the film does not really have rewatchability, it is a film with a lot of heart and showcases Amy Schumer’s acting skills.

Inside Out
For the most part, the story works. Docter's vision of the inner workings of a child's mind is engaging, colorful, and informative, and, as with most Pixar films, tries to convey a valuable life lesson to viewers, not just putting color and fanciful stuff on screen to just look pretty.
