NYPD detective John McClane is waiting at Washington Dulles International Airport to pick up his wife, Holly, on Christmas Eve when he notices suspicious activity involving a group of armed men. His investigation uncovers a carefully coordinated operation led by former military officer Colonel Stuart, whose team has seized control of the airport’s communications and landing systems. With incoming aircraft unable to land safely and Holly’s flight running dangerously low on fuel, McClane finds himself racing against time to stop a terrorist plot that threatens hundreds of innocent lives.
As airport authorities struggle to regain control, McClane takes matters into his own hands, battling heavily armed mercenaries through baggage tunnels, maintenance areas, and snow-covered runways. Bruce Willis returns as the resourceful, wisecracking hero in Die Hard 2, directed by Renny Harlin. Raising the stakes with explosive action, elaborate confrontations, and another Christmas Eve nightmare, the sequel finds McClane once again fighting overwhelming odds to protect his wife and prevent a devastating catastrophe.
