Synopsis of Edward Scissorhands (1990)

Created by an eccentric inventor but left unfinished, Edward (Johnny Depp) lives alone in a Gothic mansion, his hands replaced by shears. When kindly Avon saleswoman Peg Boggs (Dianne Wiest) brings him into her pastel-colored suburb, Edward becomes both a curiosity and a sensation—sculpting hedges, hair, and ice into masterpieces while yearning for belonging.

As Edward falls for Peg's daughter Kim (Winona Ryder), the neighborhood's fascination turns to fear. Accusations and misunderstandings spiral, forcing Edward to retreat to solitude once again. Edward Scissorhands is a haunting modern fairy tale about isolation, love, and the fragile beauty of difference, blending Tim Burton's whimsy with aching humanity.
