Synopsis of One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest (1975)

When rebellious convict Randle P. McMurphy (Jack Nicholson) fakes insanity to escape hard labor, he's sent to a mental institution under the watchful eye of the cold and controlling Nurse Ratched (Louise Fletcher). What begins as defiance soon becomes an all-out battle for freedom and individuality within the institution's rigid system.

As McMurphy rallies the patients to challenge authority, his wild spirit exposes both the cruelty and humanity hidden behind hospital walls. One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest remains one of cinema's most powerful examinations of conformity, courage, and the cost of rebellion—anchored by legendary performances and Miloš Forman's fearless direction
