With computer genius Luther Stickell (Ving Rhames) at his side and a beautiful thief (Thandie Newton) on his mind, agent Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) races across Australia and Spain to stop a former IMF agent from unleashing a genetically engineered biological weapon called Chimera. Rumor has it that director John Woo originally delivered a 3-hour, R-rated cut of Mission: Impossible 2. The studio reportedly rejected it, leading to the shorter, PG-13 version released in theaters. It remains unknown whether the original cut still exists.
